i have seen 385whp on a single cam vtec and over 400whp on dohc vtec's. all local to me and tuned on chrome pro. There is even a guy making 495whp on a ebay t70 on a built ls. Ive only seen one blow a oil seal so far in the over 3 years they been running around and all cars are dd except the one with the t70.

Still a crapshoot. The reason they're cheap is quality control.

Crapshoot is right. I've got a small T3 and the seals are gettin a little iffy on me. Even though, you can't really complain with a BRAND NEW, SHIPPED TO YOUR DOOR replacement for the measly price of $199.

Who cares? I got mine from a buddy brand new for $60 bucks. You CANNOT beat that. I know people running these turbos for years with no problems. My friends built ls/v made over 400 on a ebay turbo about a year ago and to this day he is still rocking it no problem and he DD's the car everyday over 50 miles to and from work, he spent $139 shipped from ebay. You guys can go spend your $600+ for your "brand name" turbo, but im completely satisfied with my $60 turbo that works perfectly for what i need.

I've had problem after problem with all of my 1k$+ turbos.

Never an issue out of the dozens upon dozens of cheap turbos I have installed, used and owned.

The key is a 3an oil line with an oil restrictor. I get the to4e's for 110$ my cost. I have a few customers that have been running the same 110$ turbo for over 3 years.

Who gives a **** as long as it works, but as they do work, they do not perform like the design they were copied from because the wheels measure out slightly smaller.

That may be fine for you and alot others, but the fact remains...its still a crapshoot. There are so many "hit and miss" issues with the quality of these turbos, its not funny. Just because one person has success with them doesnt mean the next guy will, so people dont take the chance. The last thing that I would skimp out on is the turbo, that my opinion. I'd rather spend the money and buy a quality unit, than take a chance on blowing my turbo seals in two weeks.

To the OP, a buddy of mine made 314 whp on a stock B16 with a Blox IM on an Ebay 50 trim, but I cant remember what psi it was done at. 400 whp is gonna be a miracle thoh, that unit is gonna be way out of its efficiency range, I'd sugget he use an Ebay T70. They aren't true 70 mm turbos anyway, but i've seen good numbers out of them, as another buddy of mine made 451 whp with a fully built b16 @ 22 psi with that unit.

I would go all motor before I ever installed an Egay Turbo, Manifold, Wastegate or BOV on my car. Only people I see using this **** are the same people that swear by turbo cams and block guards still, guess times dont change for some people.

Not to be a dick, but I would think your question would of been answered by reading the first 12 words of my responce...........

All the guys around me running egay **** can never figure out why car A with
Garrett 60trim has 10+mph on the car B with the Egay setup running the same PSI, I just laugh and move on because there is no talking sense into them, they are oblivious to facts and only see dollar signs and see 2 things labeled identically but with drastically different price tags and just cant get over it, and make the stupid cheap purchase to compliment their stupid cheaply built ricer whips......

Go and support a country that hates us and allows its people to work for next to nothing, my money will go towards Precision, Borg and Garrett/Honeywell long before anymore of it goes to China than already does.

Damn son, didnt mean to start a international argument over it. My point was simple, dont talk down on something you never tried. People have their opinions and every setup is different. So comparing one car to the next on the same psi isnt feasible at this point.

At this point?? I would think that at this point in time people would not be making Ebay threads still. When you have 2 identical setups tuned by the same guy but running China vs American junk, my FACTS are feasible, please continue your ignorence towards quality parts, makes no difference to me my Garrett car will always be faster and most importantly more reliable, and I wont be embrassed when someone asks me what snail I am running.

Just because my money has not exchanged hands for that junk does not mean I do not have direct experience with said junk, not to mention literally HUNDREDS of ebay threads on this site that I cant help but reading (99% of the time its the exact same question) and laughing, I just go out in the garage and feel electric about my quality built Garrett purchase.

You should not really start with this Overseas vs. America crap. We ARE on a HONDA forum... also most "American" companies are owned and/or operated overseas anyways. Either that or it may be "made in America" but all the materials were imported. So really what is the difference? All your money still goes out of the USA and makes the rich richer...

You are correct they are not based out of China, but you obviously have not been to the Honda dealer for parts lately. Remember when you bought parts fom Honda or Acura they used to say "Made in Japan"? Well now a lot of parts (I.e. Gaskets) are say "Made in China" right on the OEM package. Either way "Made in America" isn't made in America like it used to be. It is sad but true... I work in an American steel mill and you should see all the **** made in China and Tawain (sp? Like I give a eFf) all over our mills. Most of our ingots are from those places too while the rest of the mix is recycled steel and such.
