Default Ported GSR head Part II , The chambers.

wel i was working the chambers, blending aroung the seats ect. ect... Just thought that i might of blended the valve seat a little too deep and want some opinion too see if this is going to interfere with the valve job later on. CC, Fnked, Max CFM, ect. ect. Chime in please!!

here's a picture of the Intake seat, the red arrow is where i blended a little too deep and blue is indicating that the seat is still there.

you don't have any top angle left but you didn't kill the seat just hurt some flow. If the vj hasn't been done yet you are ok as long as that is as deep as you go.That is if what I think is the 45 is correct.

Yes this was the final touch already, just waiting for the VJ.
So this messed up the VJ's full potencials?

It looks like you didn't hit the actual seating area (the 45 degree angle) so you should be OK. As far as flow is concerned it doesn't look too bad, although it is a 2 dimensional picture so it may look worse in person.

no your ok still because you said you still need the vj so they will just have to lower the seat a tiny bit to get your top angle back.

A competent machinist will not leave any overhangs on his valve job. IMO

It doesnt really have anything to do with being a competent machinist. If the 45 is nicked at all and he has to lower it just a hair so it comes in all around, its going to leave a top cut ledge into the chamber. That's just reality. The only way around that is just have him kiss the 45 with a 45 only cutter until the seat comes back in and leave the rest as is.
