Default 92 Accord EX Question

I hate to beat a dead horse, but my EX wont start every now and then.
Plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor button, and battery are new. It doesn't happen all the time. I turn the key and hear the Fuel pump each time..The starter is strong and turns over strong...sometimes it catches and runs for a second or two, but I let it sit for 15-30 minutes and it start like nothing was wrong...There is no loss of power...runs great when it runs...and no CELs...

Ideas????
Thanks much in advance
G

Does this appear during any one condition?
After it rains?
During a really hot day?
Do you smell gas occasionally?

You may have a leaking injector.
The injector leaks while the engine's off for the evening, the residual pressure drops in the injector rail, the engine initially starts on the fuel in the cylinders (from the leak) and then stalls before the fuel rail can repressurize.
The second start re-initializes the pump, the fuel rial refills and it starts normally.

P

just a thought.......

Sounds like the classic cracked main relay solder joints. These are easy to fix if you have a soldering iron.

He says that he hears the Fuel Pump prime each time he turns the key, so its not the main relay. Could be bad ground or bad connection .

Thanks Much!!! I knew that I was in need of a negative battery cable, but I'll check the rest of it... A friend mentioned about the injectors and fuel rail...but it didn't make sense until "P" mentioned the injectors. Hot Day...yes.. smell fuel...no...Rain...yes...Is there a way to tell which injector is bad?

Thanks Much,
G
