18G turbo question

Default 18G turbo question

yo i got a 00 si with 18g greddy kit in it, it's intercooled, w/ 12.1 fmu, 9.0:1 pistons, how high can i crank up the boost before i get detonation on pump 93 octane?

You are probably safe to 8 or 9psi, but get it tuned and back your timing off too..

With the 18G turbo charger from GReddy, there is one major problem that i see time and time again. Look at the housing, where the internal wastegate meets the housing that ring is sometimes cracked, everyone that i have seen has some sort of marking there. It WILL leak boost and is a problem, i am working on getting someone to rebulid or reman the housings, so take a look !
