Icon2 and now to improve my bad timing

Its bad enough that I have bad timing but after figuring out that my car needed a bigger fuel pressure regulator I have to readjust timing... BUT (I can't believe I am coping to this...) I don't know how... I have a tachometer/multimeter but I am currently unsure on how to re time the engine... And because I know everyone is going to ask its an 89 civic hatchback dx with a d16a6 swapped into it. Manual transmission and I think that covers it. Please help.

are you trying to set the mechanical timing or ignition timing. for ignition timing just set the dizzy dead center along its range of motion. if you want to use a timing light to set it, but its honestly not necessary.

this will show you how to set mechanical timing..
