I need to replace my loss motion assembly in my b16 head. I can't afford the $30 plus for each one. I can grab the Prelude lma's for $8.xx each. But I read I would need a stainless steel washer that is .04 and 1/4". Does anyone have any idea where I can grab them from? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
i took my digital micometer to home depot and measured a pile of diffrent washers. dont worry if you can find one exactly .040. anything from .040 to .060 should work perfectly fine unless you have some moster high lift cams then you want the thinnest possible.

you mean that there is a bunch of dimes under the lma's on some of the heads that you built? That is awesome. I would flip if I bought a head and it had DIMES in it!!! KOOL.
so since you know and my verniers are in the garage, how many dimes do you use? just easier to answer the question for people that dont know or have tools to measure a dime
1 dime per LMA. As above the ppl say to use something around .040" thick. A dime measure .045" I guess i'm just a dumbass for using dimes huh LS azzkikr?

they are under the spring style LMA, kept in the hole by the lma and the vtec rocker. Its no different than going and getting a washer like anyone else is doing. I just dont have to search, I reach in my change jar, and bam, I have exactly what I need. I dont see why anyone sees the dime any differently than a washer??
Or ya, you can buy the K series ones as linked above

I believe they usually use a hardened steel washer, which is stronger than a nickel and copper sandwiched coin. Great idea, just be careful and make sure it doesn't get smooshed and cause any issues.
