my mate put this idea into my head and i said id put a post up to see if its possible.

the car is a 95 eg 1.3 dx so would there be anyway round turbo'ing or s/c'ing the 1.3 carbed engine, would it need alot of internal work etc and as for power gains what would i be looking at or would it be better to change the engine to something else. At the moment this is just a thought and im genuinely curious could it be done to an engine like mine if it can i might just do it. thanks

 

1.3..you need more displacement for sure. if you just got a bigger better motor you would probably be happy with that. but a d13....do they make turbo manifolds for that motor? supercharger would not be much help with it.
i say turbo or new motor...

I wouldn't waste much time with a dinky little carb'd engine.

Get a fuel-injected motor, they are much easier to tune and modify.

 

its not hard to do motor swaps in hondas. i would just get an f.i. motor and make it easy on yourself

 

Just Get a Ls n you will be happy! No Need to waste your money on that motor. B series have crazy amount of aftermarket support.

An still be faster than the D13 lol B Series FTW!!!!

 

you can turbo any thing, but what you have to ask yourself is this, what will be easier to do. i say if you are dead on staying with a sinlge jingle boost a d15 or 16 and call it a day alot of turbo parts for those motors, if you want to get into the b world or k you gonna have to pay to play so under stand that which ever route you go a decent amount of money will be involved

 

im just looking at different options engine wise to do to my civic, i bin thinkin bout the bseries n/a but its pretty common over here thats why i wanna go turbo. is boosting a d15/d16 easy??? much internal work there too???

 

its easy and you can walk all over Bseries all day long...unless they are real built
anyways you dont have to build a Dseries just put a turbo on it.
it depends how much power youwant. stock engines can take alot

 

powerwise id be even happy for 200whp id be exstatic with 250 to 300, im young so ive plenty of time for crazy power

 

a stock d16 vtec or not with a turbo can easily get 25ohp. gl. have fun. dont die
