i have a b16a1 sawp in my 89 crx and it is reving up and down at idle but i can not figure out what it is what could be causing it. i have heard is the iacv in that case is there any other motor i can take that from cuz the cheapest ones i have found is 200 bucks anyone want to sell one for 50?

 

u do not need a new iacv, all u have to do is unbolt it from tha mani an clean tha whole surface area an tha lil screen thats n there...iv heard ta use card carb cleaner but mi EF was doin that an i jus used water an it fixed mi idle perfectli

 

i actually already tried that and still its was messed up i will try it again though. i used carb cleaner to do it.

 

There's also a FITV that bolts underneath the throttle body, you can try cleaning that. If that doesn't do anything try searching for vacuum leaks.

FITV is short for fast idle thermo valve.

OP: Check your FITV like sp33 and I said, I'm almost positive that is the problem. If the FITV goes bad it will stay open when the motor is at optimum temperture when it's supposed to close at that point and cause a major vacuume leak. Some people clean it and that may help the problem, but IMO I'd just buy a new one and replace it so you know that part is good.
