I always just use dishsoap & a high pressure garden hose. The oil is really optional... Use as little oil as possible.

 

^ not really, k&N says never use a filter without the oil, nor use high pressure water to clean it. lol, the oil is what gives it that red color...

 

Because I am sure that EVERYONE with a K&N filter oils it regularly....

I havent oiled mine since the day I got it and I wash it out with a garden hose every few months. Still looks like brand new minus the super-cool color...

 

yea cause ima oil it everytime i wash my car... lol, i just got it, and am following the instructions to properly clean it; like you didnt. tard.

 

Then you're K&N filter isn't filtering at all. The OIL is what captures and suspends the dirt on one side of the filter, preventing it from passing through. This is why it is important to oil consistently...which is why the oil is colored so you can see any missed/unsoaked spots.

Congratulations - your engine has been sucking in loads of dirt since the first time you washed the filter without re-oiling!

 

lol, thats what i was tryin to say.

all in all im very happy with the 5$ filter i cleaned up, i have a lil torque now. especially with the bigger diameter piping i put on...
