Is the rotor safe?
While working on the money pit, I found a bad wheel bearing on the front drivers side (less than 1k miles on it), a bunch of soft nuts (replace with wheel bearing) and a cracked rotor (only 2 hpdes on it).
The rotor is an 11.1" blank with a 1" crack on the inside face. It isn't one of those cosmetic cracks. This crack is significant enough that you can catch a nail in it. Aside from that one crack, the rotor looks great.
So am I being paranoid. Is this ok, or should I get another set of rotors before my next event?
Input appreciated. All of these failed items are on the front drivers side corner. So think brake ducts have to happen soon...

A crack that big, you should replace it. While it might not NEED it, the greater potential of the rotor breaking on track would far outweigh the $50 savings or whatever.
Unfortunately, some rotors are just garbage to begin with, due to casting imperfections or whatever.

Ugh... Just ordered a new one from fastbrakes... Although this one came from fast brakes as well... Looks like fastbrakes doesn't offer priority mail shipping on items anymore, so it was $19 to ship a single rotor... Looks like its time for me to start drilling my own...
Thanks for the input!

Ok, its official Brian @ Fastbrakes kicks @ss... Just got a call from him. I guess he wanted to confirm my order since I only ordered a single rotor. I asked him about my cracked rotor and he said he'd *NEVER* seen it before and he is sending me a replacement free of charge.

Also remember that the cracks open up when the rotors cool, so check the size of the cracks when they've had a chance to cool off. I've had rotors that felt fine on the track, but were bump-bump-bump noisy the next morning, with cracks large enough that I wouldn't take them out again.
