Default A Quick Design

A previous owner put an intake on my car and it wore through the AC line due to not being properly fixed into place. Well I want to fix my AC so I made a quick bracket using Google SketchUp which I will either cut out by hand or have my work water jet it.

I'll post pics of the final piece as well when I get it done. Any ideas on what thickness would be sufficient to support the few pounds of force and vibration this will cause?

If you can't find a grommet the right size, just slit a vacuum hose length-wise, cut it to just a bit longer than the circumference and press it on. If it doesn't want to stay, use a small bead of weather strip adhesive.

Best of luck with your project.

Yeah, I was definitely planning on doing some type of padding between the tube and bracket. Well I can't get it water jetted, so I guess I am gonna be getting to know my pair of tin snips very well tonight.

You should avoid sharp edges, special at the inside, they are stress concentration areas. This bracket will not may received a lot of force, but the little force it will receive will be converted into fatigue and that fatigue could cause your bracket to fail/crack starting on the inside sharp edges. you might want to use a min. radius of .125" on those sharp edges.

Good job though!!!
