Default Boosted Hondas with A/C...show 'em!

Trying to get an idea of how people are keeping their A/C while using a turbocharger, so please post pictures of your set-ups.

Thanks.

Full-Race Stage2 GT AC GT3076R
You can see the AC line missing in this picture. I had to have it extended a few inchs by a local hose shop. The stock peice was wanting to touch the manifold. I ended up wrapping it with reflective heat wrap. AC blows snow *****.

Although i miss it in the summer, taking out my AC was the best thing i ever did as far as ease of working on my GSR. It was such a pain in the *** to work around the compressor and condensor. Also, my car doesn't tend to overheat in the summer without it...that's a plus i guess

I think I like it more for summer rainy days when you need it to defog the windsheild then just to stay cool. Honestly, if I did it all over again I'd probably ditch it. Manifold is cheaper, one less thing to worry about, and the things Schister66 mentioned above.

^^Do you have an across and back intercooler or do you have an inlet on each endtank? I've always wondered how people ran the piping for those sidewinder setups...

Sp00led, that setup looks as if it would almost allow a full radiator... do you think it would be possible?

Its a backdoor intercooler, in & out are on the same side and go into the side of the tank.

Just a little fyi.. The car is currently at T1 for tuning.. Gonna be a week or two before I get her back but Im anxious! Going for round 550 on E85.

I've thought about the idea of a stock single core raditator. I wasn't sure if having the extra surface area would be better then the dual core half size PWR. If I were to make one fit I would need a push fan on the wastegate side of the radiator because the wastegate is the main obstruction. I'm also worried about the motor and wastegate moving forward after WOT as I've seen it shift on the dyno before.

Im sorry I dont have a picture, but I had ac in my hatch with a Neukin AC ramhorn which made it real easy. All I did was got a cheap slim fan and mounted it on the other side of the condensor. Its also good to have on those hot summer raining days as said above.

Anybody with a cast-iron manifold set-up?

That's what I"m looking for....if I could get away with no A/C then I'd do it, but Southeast Texas heat and humidity is killer, especially with summer coming up and our sudden rainstorms.

If you are talking about getting a log manifold then you have no AC, PS, or full radiator issues to worry about.

Yeah, that's what I was more looking towards...it's a daily driver, so I need A/C and don't want to have to deal with the cracking issues that sometimes go with the tubular style.

I'm assuming slim-line fans are in order at least on the condenser, right?

A great log manifold is the inlinePro T4. Supports massive hp. ac / ps compatable. I haven't heard any bad reviews on them ever.

I'm not looking for anything too ridiculous, hopefully I'll get in the 300-350whp range.

Why is it rediculous? because I said it can support massive hp? it will work with 300 - 350 hp ... it will work when you decide to slap a gt35 at 20 psi on too...

inline pro is the way to go to retain ac. I have a ramhorn mani and had ac for 2 years and it worked ok, but like others said it is a tight fit with a ramhorn ac mani.

for 350hp you want a T3 based turbine so dont use a inline pro T4 just get the t3 mani

I'm just trying to keep it somewhat basic right now, if you know what I mean...when the time comes and I have another daily driver I'll probably do away with A/C and get something designed to put out a bit more power.

Thanks for the recommendation though.

My thoughts exactly, the ramhorns look and perform badass, but they seem to pack it in pretty close.

Pretty much the header is supporting the turbo. Its got wiggins clamps to the intercooler though. So most of the weight is transferred to the intercooler mounts. Its solid though, so no big deal.

BTW yes it did interfere with the hoses but everything is AN fittings & stainless braided hoses. Its not too bad but its a lot of high $$$ parts that arent really nessesary. The guy before me built it that way. So I got it when I purchased the kit.
