DX Cluster
I know this is gonna be a bonehead question but I just put in a gauge cluster from a DX and it's been in for about a month now but i haven't been driving at night so I haven't noticed sooner, but my needles don't light up? Aren't they supposed to? I originally had the standard dash....speedo, fuel and temp gauge and i got one with a tach from same year car. Is it a wiring discrepancy or are the bulbs just popped? Thanks.
are u sure u conected everything in the right way?
sounds like u might have missed something.....
anyway, no they are supposed to work
and by the way i love your signature and the oil thingy jejeje its tight!

hehe..thanks for the praise about the sig
Well...i'm hoping it's a bulb or two
And I'm sure i hooked it up right...i had the same number of plugs on both gauge clusters and in the same place.

Thumpu77 put directions up for swapping gauges, and it points out where the bulbs that light up the needles are. Here's the page...

Ok, the 2 bulbs on the very top of the guage aren't connected. If you look at the top of the black trim you'll notice 2 long rectangular pieces of plastic, those are what light up your needles. Just replace the 2 bulbs and you'll be good to go, also make sure the wire to them is connected.
Can I ask why the wires wouldn't be hooked up? I pulled it out of a stock civic DX. I had my old one with me and compared hook ups and they were the same. I thought it was a simple plug-&-play operation. Thanks

The dx cluster doesn't have a tach. I know I have a dx, I replaced mine with a 91 Crx si cluster. Here are a few pics, I hope they help. Feel free to e-mail me or post any questions you have, I should be able to answer them.
The top of the cluster
The back where the wire plugs in
The front of my old dx cluster (Just cuz I'm an ***)

Ok, Status update, replaced the majority of my bulbs but couldn't find the ones for above the cluster behind that plastic panel. Any one know the part number for the bulbs?

The ones on the top are the same as your corner lights. You have your cluster out right? Look at the top of the cluster. The white rectangle with the blue wire coming out of the back is the housing for the upper lights...
I guess I should of said I couldn't find them at the parts store, I had the two bulbs out when i was at the parts store, but couldn't find a match. Unless they were one of the mini-bulbs that were out of stock at the time. That's why I was hoping for the parts number.
