Redline??
When I bought my car it came with a chipped Pr3 on a B18C GSR. The ECu has no rev limit. I am wondering if you guys kn ow the rev limit of a factory GSR? Also, I have Type R cams I am about to put on. How much higher will my redline go. and will my GSR springs hold up to it?
Since when does installing bigger camshafts make your redline go up? You are still limited to the GSR springs redline... OR you meant to say how much will it increase your power band on the top end? Camshafts do not increase your redline...
I believe the redline is 8100-8200. Have the car dyno tuned and rev it to where it stops making power.
GS-R valvetrain will be fine as long as you stay at an 8200 rev limit.

Take that chip out ASAP. The stock redline is 8000 fuel cut off is 8200. The first time you miss shift and rev that car to 10k say good bye to your whole engine. It will drop a valve quick. Seen it happen.
Yes I meant my power band.
This is the reason I ask... because I dont wanna be taking it to a limit that I can damage the motor. I have also seen a valve drop and its pretty scary. Remember I'm a tech...
I will be swaping out this ECU I am just trying to see how much improvement I am going to get with the type R cams. Once I change the ECU I will get the car dyno. I dont know what fuel maps are in that ECU. So I dont wanna risk it.
What is the limit of a Type R Springs? Because I believe my car has them. At least thats what the guy I bought the car from told me.

I am seriously starting to doubt you are a technician of any kind. Any true "ASE Certified Technician" would get out a valve spring tester and see what kind of spring rate they have. Then you would know exactly what you have. Either that or purchase a set of valve springs so you know they will be able to handle the extra lift.

I know very well what I am talking about... I am just trying to see if i would need springs before I take anything apart. I'm trying to save myself from a hassle. That is what a forum is for isn't it. If you aren't going to help go look for something else to do.
And for the record I have 9 ASE. I am a Master Technician and I am an Automotive Instructor. Don't judge someones knowledge by the questions they ask. Don't be so ignorant.
