get a chipped ecu that has no rev limiter and you can rev to 9k....i wouldnt do it if i were you unless you had some serious valvetrain work done...on a stock valve train its not gonna be very safe

Get some aftermarket valve springs and retainers and u should be able to rev up to 9k with no worries.

ahhh i was getting there....theres no need to go that high unless your making power up there...you might want to at least have better cams then stock

valve train that can handle the revs (springs/retainers), Cams which make power till then (as anyone can rev high but whats the point if you're only making 1/2 the power/torque you had @ 8k rpm.)

once you can rev that high you;ll need a ECU which wil allow you to do so.

What everyone else said above. Reving to 9k on a stock b16 is useless and a good way to shorten the engine life.. If you get aftermarket cams like Skunk2 Stage 2s, Toda Bs and JUN Stage 3s then the higher rev limiter will be needed..

agree, if you dont have cams that can make power up to 9k and you dont have the valvetrain to handle the power up to 9k, then dont rev it to 9k. remember, if you decided to get cams such as skunk2 stage 2 or toda spec b's, its advised that you change your valvetrain to handle the more aggressive cams and reving

Should be 8k rpm. Fuel cutoff I believe is at 8200 rpm..
Pennies_hatchie is right; if you're using aftermarket cams that make power past 8k rpm, then upgraded valvetrain is needed..
