Car intermintely shuts off while driving...
So i purchased a 98 honda crv lx for winter. The car has a check engine light, which the owner told me it was a bad o2 sensor. So i figure no big deal, ill get it fix it later down the road. I get the car home and it intermintely shuts off while im driving. Which is pretty scary, ive had the car for 4 days and its shut off on me 6-7 times. Its not the battery or alternator. So im clueless on how to fix this. My brother think its gonna be a fuel problem such as pump, filter, regulator, etc...My question is will a bad o2 sensor cause this problem? i've drove a few cars with bad sensors in the past with no problems. When the car shuts off, sometimes it doesnt start up right away. I need to find a solution quick since this is my daily drive now since my car is in the shop. Im afraid of it dying on the freeway and i'll get into an accident. Im going to advance auto today to double check the code.
any thoughts?
any thoughts?
so i took it to my mechanic who suggest its a bad ignition starter solenoid, and that it was going to cost me close to $500 for repair. So i do a lilttle research and find out the part is on recall from honda. So i made an appointment and the car goes into the dealer friday.
