Hey guys,

Anyone can think what could be the fix for this issues. After my car drives a long distance to then start coming into city, frequent stops or even gets stuck in Traffic for sometime, my car bogs out. Out of nowhere the idle goes way down, ill press on the gas and the revs just go up but the car hardly moves. I've changed the gas type to a mid grade and kept it that way & that help for a long time but it just recently happened again. I've been told it could be the Oxygen sensors/Transmission filter/The filter in itself/transmission. Anyone got any insight on this?

 

Does the fuel pump whine?

 

The oxygen sensor could be the culprit. I had this problem after about 10-15 minutes of driving and the car transitioned into "closed-loop" (i.e. the car regulates fuel trim based on input from the O2 sensor rather than the long-term fuel trim memory stored in the ecu).

Since the problem doesn't start until the car has been driven for a few miles, your O2 sensor could be malfunctioning and causing the engine to run lean.
