what would cause the 'battery' light to come on while driving? when the light came on.. i pullled over.. turned the car off.. started it up again. 'battery' light went away.. but after driving for a couple of mins.. it came back on.

what would cause this?

Battery light who cares, but check the voltage, you may need a new one. I'm sure you know that so this is a duh post.

 

altenator could be going bad.

Eric, remember that autoX that I couldn't make because of my alternator....well guess what....hehe try this...start the car up then pull the pos battery cable off while its running...if the car shuts off...the alternator's bad....

Burte has a point .. try that.... if the light still come on just change the brushes inthe alternator... and you should be cool

 

I had the same problem and it was the alternator.
