Hey guys, i just lowered my 1999 civic dx with coilovers, i did a 3" drop, it looks fantastic, but i am wondering if i carefully paint my white/silver hubcaps black would that look good? Have any of you done it before, if you have, let me know so i can take it into consideration.

My car is a dark green civic 4 door and i personally think it might look good but i dont wanna experiment before getting some feedback

Leave your hubcap the way it is or get some wheels.

 

Please do not paint your hubcaps. Leave them as is till you get some rims.

 

But im not planning on getting rims cuz i cant afford them, and i am wondering how i can paint them or if i can see a pic of a car with painted hubcaps. I dont like them how they are white and the car is dark green, doesnt match much.

 

auto zone sells rim paint but that 1000 1500 2000 grit sand paper but keep um the way they are

 

clean and paint your steelies black.
buy beauty rings.
paint the rings to complement your car.
i hate hubcaps 3 out of 4 of mine cracked and fell off and then i had to throw the 4th out

 

DONT PAINT THEM DUDE.... Your car will look even worse. Leave them as is even if you cant afford rims at the moment.


Cars with painted hubcaps look so cheap and poorly modded. Doesnt speak much for the owner.

 

dont paint them, it will look horrible and make it look like a ricer.
just save your pennys, it takes time, you will get the rims you want sooner or later.

The only color I'd suggest painting them would be a gunmetal, if not original silver. Look at some 80's car mags, you'll see just how bad paint-matching wheel covers looks - it's right up there with the Pontiac Aztec.

Black steelies tend to give it a decent look, if not cheap look in some people's eyes. It's a 4dr civic, thats inevitable anyways. Otherwise just search craig's list or your local area's HT classifieds for stock Honda rims. You can get Si or GSR rims for under $300 sometimes, with decent tires & finish.

 

not sure if you are really would be into um but older bmw rims fit i know the bottle caps fit and they also have some nice mesh rims all 4x100

i have the caps and i scored them for 100 bucks with BRAND new tires
