Default Smokes After High RPM Decel

Curious if anyone has had this issue:
if i'm driving and i let off the gas while at a higher rpm like 5 or 6 grand in 3rd for instance and let it slow itself down to about 2500 then give it gas it smokes HORRIBLY! Sometimes it smokes bad above 6500. It's been burning A LOT of oil so I'm about to yank it apart, but i'm tryin to narrow it down to replacin the oil control rings or if its valve guide seals.

I'll re-do the comp test again in the morning, it was fine about 2 months ago... it smoked a lil but it started gettin worse n i also started squeezin on it, i was thinkin the oil rings not the comp rings might be the problem. But then I started thinkin valve guide seals cuz of the bad decel smoke problems. But like i said I'll do the test again as soon as i get to the shop in the morning. Ty for the input

Just replace all the rings and valve guides.

Not to be a dick, but if i was just gonna do both i wouldn't be tryin to figure out which one is the problem. If I have to do the rings planned on doing the valve guides since the head will be off, but if i jus have to do the guides then its kinda out of the way to do the rings if its not necessary.

truth to do rings he will have to pull motor out to work comfortably. if it is just the valve guide seal he will only remove the head. Member to do a wet compression test

For sure on the wet test, i work at a honda/acura performance shop, so i'm familiar wit both jobs, n most of the time i always leave the engine in for piston/rod upgrades or repairs. Ur right wit motor out its alot more comfortable but much faster wit it in.

Like i said tho, if it is the valve seals that would be nice, cuz i can do them now. If it the rings i might have to hold off a lil cuz i only have the money for the seals and h-gasket, I'll have to try to get the rings, rod bearings (might as well since they're comin off anyways) and ring filer next week.

Thats why i'm tryin to see if anyone has had this issue so i can figure which it is.
