yeah i was just wondering what is involved in adding power steering to my civic dx, it's a 96 dx coupe. i know i need the pump, belt, brackets, ps rack, and res. tank, also fines/hoses. My question is this, what elts is needed? Anybody have any pics of the process? or done this swap?

 

thats about it, might want to pick up some new tie rod ends aswell.

 

oooh you forget elbow grease haha and wd40 and id suggest getting an alignment afterwards

 

power steering is over rated. you have more control with out it. unless your a total wimp id leave it with no p/s

 

That may be. But the EJ i had previous owner pluged the P/S holes on the Rack an Steering went to hell an the Steering wheels had alot of Shaking an vibrations... My friends say they did the same thing but never had a problem with the steering wheel.. maybe just a hit n miss. but good thing i got a New DX EH2 with P/S.

Looks alot cleaner too without it in there!

 

if your manual rack will fit in my 97 del sol then i'll trade you my p/s for your manual

 

id like to see how difficult putting p/s on a car would be. i dont really care for it but if you do go for it man

 

damn, dude i am doing it for my moms car yo, she is getting tired of driving it.

 

I have everything you need to setup powersteering. tie rod ends both inner and outter are only a few months old.

where are you located? I could give you a kickass deal if you were to pick it up.

I dont know the shipping cost though, might be expensive. but the pump doesnt leak, the crossmemeber is great, tie rods are great. Id even throw the steering wheel in with it.

parts are form a 1993 del sol and yes, you need to swap the entire crossmember. car has never been in an accident up front, so everything is straigh

actually,. if you popped the tie rod ends on her car, un bolted the crossmemebr and took off the rear mount and steering shaft, we could swap it in a matter of hours no problem
