D15B8 to D15B
I didn't find any other thread on the D15B8 to D15B swap so I started this.
I currently have a D15B8 in a 95 CX Hatchback that I was planning on having rebuilt. I have a blown head gasket, fried piston rings, and need a new clutch. Plus it has 200k+ miles. Instead of having this engine rebuilt I am considering getting a D15B swap (includes tranny) from Osaka JDM Motors.
I am not doing a swap for any other series, I can't afford to go to a B or H series, so I am looking at a simple D swap. I called the importer and it has the full harness as well. If I get the D15B would I need anything else besides the P08 ecu?
Thanks in advance guys.

For that I would need to just run a wire from the VTEC solenoid to the ECU right?
If I cannot find a P08, is there any other ECU that I can use? Also, would I need to modify it at all?

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/wiring-vtec-1650793/ that will help with wiring VTEC. When I did it I used the original harness and cut the black tape/wrap covering JDM harness to get the VTEC solenoid and VTEC Pressure switch.

You may need an upper driver's side engine mount for a D16Z6 if your D15B doesn't come with it. Autozone has them for like $20.
Timing belt, water pump, idler pulley, and I'd suggest main seals and a new clutch, obviously.
Take the intake off the new JDM engine and clean it out well. It will probably be really nasty from the junky Japanese gas.
