i have a legit mugen twinloop catback and i find it to be amazing. its not loud at all but if you get on it it sounds like a motoGP bike lol. fitment is perfect and looks are amazing, i love it. as far as knock offs, i dont have much info on as ive never come across one...
Would buy again.
My old thread.

Edit: Some parts may not make sense after I re-read it again today. And I kept the car longer since.
Till the day I sold the car, no issues with the OBX. It looks and shine just like day one. I do agree that it got a bit louder after the break-in was done, but sound (tone) stayed consistent. I drove it a few times from CA to AZ and drone was never an issue.
IMO - in terms of sound and DD ear comfort.
The best muffler (only) for the money.
The best exhaust only second to a WS2 full catback.

was it full exhaust or just factory piping, how long do it last, im pretty convinced that i want this type, but just want more info on before buying it. any problems later on with the sound quality?
^^^^ see edit. All OEM pipe and cat. The OBX was welded on.
I would recommend printing out a pic of real Mugen with hangers, so they know where to weld the hangers. One of my hanger was on the loop. It did not break off or anything, it was under the bumper anyways so no one can really see. But still.....
The muffler shop guy (domestic -muscle car) never seen anything like this. So you got to spell it out for him.
BTW, I kept the car for two years after OBX. So I can say there was no change from day one, other then being just a tiny bit louder.

Its bad then if its hanger welded on the loop....

I had a 97 Civic Sedan. I recall the muffler is a bit long for the HB. Meaning it sticks out more than one may like. Not sure if that was a bad weld job or not. But that's what I saw back then on HT.com. I can't find any OBX on HB pics.

Above is for a Civic. See where the hangers are?

The above is for a Prelude (that I just found). I guess it does not matter if the weld was on the loop. It just that muffler body twist a bit as you rev it. Stress point.
Also noticed the tip is longer. So I'm not sure if the actual HB Mugen exhaust's tip is a bit shorter than the sedan.
Do you have a HB?

i have a hatchback, but i also wondered if OBX one would fit without clearance issues. it would be cool though if it would fit.. i looked for pics but cant find the OBX TL styles on HB's.
I dont know also for the clearance issues if it will stick out as well as compensating to make it fit. Also im worried if how it would look worth buying.
and idk if the ID pipe and idk if the stock one is 2.5'' will that OBX one fit.
hoping to get this one but im debating still\/\/\/\/\/\\/\/

^^^ that one looks ugly compared to the real deal and other replicas ive seen... that tip ruins the whole look of a twin loop IMO. try to find a replica that has the tip like Mugens
Only twin loop I have seen that has a tip similar to the Mugen is the HyTech custom build if I remember correctly. Both the OBX and the no-name that is on EBay all the time have larger tips. The OBX is 3" the other 4".
Check out the pic in this thread. The red gen 5 Civic hatch.

This is not OBX, but it gives you an idea. What they did was cut the tip off. You can do the same thing, or have the shop weld on another shorter tip.
Talk to the guy if he can cut/weld stainless steel? Can they maintain the shine in that area? You see (in the pic) they paint it back. Ask extra questions.
