I'm going to sand and bondo some things on my Civic. Will primer hold up alright? Will it do a good enough job of keeping rust from showing up?

 

make sure go grind off all and I mean all the rust first!(if any) If you leave any and put body filleron top of the rust will spread like crazy! And it won't show on the paint surface until it is too late. Otherwise the primer will work just fine

 

I don't believe Primer is water proof, unless they now make a special water proof one or something.

 

My car has been primered for about 3 months....and I had a ton of rust on my 90 DX......the only thing ive noticed that has happened to the primer is its faded....from me washing it and a couple bad storms we had....but thats 3 months.......plus you can get primer sealer....
