No power after 4K and CEL
Ok, so just the other day I noticed that only under full throttle and after 4K my car looses all power and acts like its bogging. But only under 4K and ONLY under 100% throttle. I also have a CEL on as well.
I'm right now on a little more than a 1/4 tank of E85. So what I wanted to do is run the rest of the E85 out and fill it with 5 gallons of 93, unhook the E85 conversion box and see if I still get the same bog. I also am going this afternoon to Advance Auto to get them to see what my CEL code is. Don't need to pay the stealership $75 when Advance can tell me for free. So as of yet I don't know what my CEL code is....
I also did more research and found out that most people running E85 went 2 heat ranges colder on plugs. See this link for picture and recommendation.

So would a fouled plug or plugs only act up over 4K and under full throttle? And could it in turn throw a CEL if I have fouled plugs or plug. I also noticed it seems to be running REALLY rich. Mainly because when I downshift it gurgles and pops like mini backfires.
????? Any thoughts??????

It may no tbethe case for you but I know with my gf civic and mine my gas cap comes loose sometimes Id say unscrew ur gas cap and re tighten it and see if your cel goes away if not then im going to assume that its something to do with ur E85 possibly and advanced auto can tell u more once they find out what ur cel code is..

KK gud luck I just had a cel the other day and couldnt figure out what it was from then I tried the gas cap and it went away so hope it works for you and you cna get that other issue fixed as well
Another dumb fix.......... So the code I was throwing was P0171 : To lean on bank 1.
Lean huh??? Here I thought it was running rich. SO I inspect the conversion box to see that the LED's inside are not lighting up. Checked the wiring and the negative wire had severed from the metal connector. So it had no power to the unit. So i was running the car as if it didnt have the box with E85. So yeah there is why I was running lean. Proves that the box does work and our cars CANNOT run on E85 without this kit, or with a proper tune and parts.
Fixed the wire, got power and she screams again.
Thank goodness it was nothing serious. I do have some new Denso "2 heat ranges colder than stock" IK27 spark plugs on there way. We will see what that does.
