Icon6 COMplex's Stage "XX" Superchargery Thread - Corn power!

Monday August 10, 2009

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, monsters and aliens... It has been done, again! This time I'm going to call it Stage "XX" (because I feel like it).

After much anticipation and waiting, my most recent upgrades are complete. The car is now running on a 3" pulley, FlashPro, and e85 ethanol fuel :shadycorn:

I already had RC 650cc injectors from my Stage 'X' upgrade, so the only other additions were the 3" pulley, a Walbro 225lph fuel pump, FlashPro, and of course I removed the AEM FIC.

The car feels amazing. I can't even imagine this thing at sea level. It's a beast. It just keeps pulling and pulling all the way to the rev limiter. It's meaner and louder than ever before, and I lose traction like it's going out of style with brand new tires, as well as my Hoosier Drag Radials.

I took the car to the DynoJet Dyno operated by Bear @ Dyno Pro Inc. Mike took care of tuning this monster, and I can only say great things about his work.

According to the FlashPro datalogs, the car was only making 6~psi on the dyno because of the outside temps (almost 90°F - very hot day!!) Later that night, when it cooled off to around 65°F, I saw 9psi on my AEM boost gauge. I will be dynoing again on a colder evening for sure!

On to the dyno graphs:

Thanks Mike! Your tuning is a fine art.
Thanks Bear! Couldn't have done it without your facilities

I'd love to see this tuned on a dynapack.

possibly for the higher numbers and better tune you can get because it eliminates the wheel factor.
also what was up near the top of the curve? went from half a rainbow to a lightning bolt.
but big ups to corn power!
i cant wait to see some vids mr. complex
i bet it sounds like a beast and smells like corn!

The only shop with a Dynapack closed, so I'll see what I can dig up one of these days. I don't need higher numbers, lol.

As for the jaggedness at the top end, I'm not so sure... Maybe because it was too hot to make full boost?

I do really need some new videos, but I have trouble finding people who know how to actually record a damn video. Last time I went out to get video, my friend had the camera out the window, so the wind noise was horrible, and it kept going in and out of focus.

I've been told my a number of people that they weren't sure what the hell was passing them. I've been told is sounds like a screaming baby, an F1 car, a fighter jet, etc. lol

One thing is for certain, it is LOUD. I'm afraid to buy that Skunk2 76mm exhaust when it comes out because it will probably blow out someone's eardrums.

oh thats a bummer. well i didnt higher numbers, i meant that it naturally puts out higher numbers because of the elimination of the wheels. the reason why dynojets arent as accurate, is because of tire heat when you do dyno pulls. it affects the pressure therefore making the numbers read incorrectly, but not by much, and the dynapack provides more consistent results because you are not only eliminating the wheel factor, but your attached to the hub, which has no variance factor from what would seem logical?

as for the screaming baby, i hear enough of that sh*t every day of my life. if thats the case im gonna get a turbo lol but maybe you shoulda done a fly by instead of trying to tape in the car?

To add to i-VTEC's post you can tune many more aspects on a dynapack than you could on a roller dyno.

Basically the car would make more power everywhere in the powerband, full throttle and part throttle. Additionally, the car would get better fuel economy while being faster at the same time.
