Converting B16 OBD2 to OBD1 Questions?
Alright, I got a 98 Coupe with 00 B16 OBD2 motor. I currently have a OBD2A P72 ECU in the car and my car feels like it runs like crap sometimes.
I wanna use a chipped P28 ECU in the motor and covert it to OBD1. What exactly do I need to do or buy besides getting a step down harness? Would I be able to just get a OBD1 step down harness and plug in the P28 ECU? Or do I also have to change a ton of parts or sensor on the motor? Thanks!

well 1st its a jumper harness. 2nd p72 i thought was a gsr ecu. and 3rd why would u convert to obd1 when u live in the shitty state of pa it WILL NEVER pass emissions . u can always upgrade but never downgrade thats the biggest emissions no no
You are correct. A p72 is a GS-R ecu. That's most likely why his motor isn't running great. OP, why do you want a P28 ecu? Do you have other modifications that require a chipped ECU and tune? If you are stock, just get a 99-00 Civic Si ecu. You car will run better. You'll need a OBD2A to OBD2B jumper harness to run the 99-00 civic ecu. shoklid is right, you won't pass the ECU scan test if you convert to OBD1.

$150?! Hot damn! Do you think I should get a P73 or PCT OBD2A ECU? I can get those for pretty much the same price.
