Default tachometer hook up..

so i got a tachometer for free and i wanted to wire it up to my civic cx considering that i don't have a tach on my cluster..and i was wondering how do i wire it...i have 4 wires a green, white, black, and red wire..where does each go?

Id sell it and buy an OE gauge cluster from a EX/Si. You can even swap the speedo to retain the same mileage.

thinking the same thing but that wasnt the question.

red +
black -
white is + when lights are on
green is rpm signal.

well i was thinkin about getting an si/ex cluster cause my speedo doesn't work so that'll give me a reason to get one but idk

Youre wild for driving without a speedo, haha, As long as the aftermarket RPM gauge isnt huge its fine, Maybe like a 52mm one.

I agree with these guys. Sell the tach to someone and get a cluster it plugs right in and works no wiring. And you can get one for like 50-60 bucks. Even a Auto one works but has the crappy auto selector on it some people just paint over it or put a sticker over it. You can normally get them cheaper.....people might hate me but I just destroyed two of these clusters 1 m/t and one a/t while messing around with modding them LOL.

Well that could be a speed sensor problem.
