Default Front or back speakers repalcement

Hello-this is my first post, and was wondering what would be more preferable to replace the back or the front speakers. I have a 1998 Honda civic Ex with factory install speakers. I also sun a System in mycar also and would liek to replace the speakers to sound more crisp.

I was thinking of getting pioneer-TsG1642r speakers

What?

Why would you only replace one or the other?

Better off replacing the front speakers, which were designed for the driver and passenger. The rear just fills, but is good to replace as well. Replacing speakers in your car is simple: The grille just pops off, then about 3 screws hold the 6.5 inch speakers in place.

^^ not always. most of the time you will need to pull the door pannle and cut the bucket out to get speakers to fit right,
not a big deal and its easy
replace front, speakers, then rear.

I never had to do that in my 1997 Honda Civic LX sedan, 'nor 1996 Honda Civic EX coupe. Since he has a 1998 Honda Civic EX, it should be the same, unless he gets crazy mounting depth speakers.

Crazy depth?

Standard alpine or infinity coaxials won't fit without cutting out the baskets.

Generally the only speakers I can get to fit in those cars without modification are 50$ pioneers or kenwoods.

Most people do the front speakers first. I get way more bass response from the rear though. I actually did a tutorial a few months ago, should be in archive. Just I built my system for pretty cheap. Good luck.

the fronts first and you don't need to pull the door panel at all. The plastic is thin and can be easily cut with a utility knife or even an air saw.

I'd say get a nice pair of component speakers for the front.
