It finally happened, this time not only did I snap a strap on my clutch, but
I managed to break the contact plate itself... lucky it didnt come apart
while i was driving.

I wouldnt recommend this high rpm stuff to the average guy, not too many people
are into changing clutches i think..... i certainly am NOT.

 

But I remember you doing a fabulous clutch install right before the expo in some deserted parking lot

 

i get more cuts and bruises changing clutches, than on whole motor swaps....i hate it. thats about the only part i havnt broken yet.

 

Steve, sorry to hear your latest clutch woes.

Is it time for boost yet? hehe
Maybe the clutch would last with more power at the lower rpms.

 

Steve, I was at the track this weekend and was looking at scatter sheilds on some of the cars and realized that one of the main mounting points is on the block to tranny support on the front bell housing. I'm not sure what version of Dave's header your running but with mine theres no room for one.

haha zyg is right...high rpm's are for crotch rockets and jet turbines

I shattered the clutch plate on my '96 teg RS...it was a mess...

 

.....yeah dropping the tranny blows.

 

I would install a scattershield even if my redline is at 9,500 rpm.....YNK **** happens!

 

B&M stopped making theirs. Who do you guys go to for a reasonably priced scattershield these days?....

 

Hell no... Tranny dropping parties rock... get about 4 cases and 5 friends and spend the day getting dirty Then to celebrate a job well done, hit the titty club
