Default Questions about repairing cracked bumper

I have a small crack about 5 inches long on in my bumper. 1991 ef hatch. Its right below where the licence plate bolts to. Is there any tricks with epoxy or some type of sandable glue where i can glue it back, sand it, and paint it? The crack is so small, im not going to the wrecking yard and getting another bumper you know? Just tired of seeing that **** whenever i walk around it.

What do you mean a crack? Like the paint is cracked or is it actually punctured through? Nothing you can do about that except to use a small amount of bondo, sand it down, then repaint it.

Find a way to wedge it where the crack closes tight and put a thin layer of fiberglass over the rear side, let that setup then a small amount of filler on the outside to cover the crack, then prep/paint. Thats probably what i'd do anyway. May be a better/easier way, but that seems logical.

wow once again this kid is poisting with out any idea how to ****ing do things. itslogz do urself a favor and stop posting you are ****ing stupid.

#1 for the OP fiberglass/bondo doesnt stick/hold to plastice/polyurathene/epoxy bumpers.

fiberglassresin and bondo is for wood n metal and masonairy. if u use it on ur bumper u r wasting your time and money.

DO THIS.

#1 take your bumper completly off the car.
#2 get an electric sander and sand the entire area of ur crack inside and outside dont go crazy with it.
#3 get yer dremel tool and carve into the crack sorta making it like a little valley, if u have to open it up bigger then do so. (your doing this on the outside of the car where use ur crack when u walk around ur car).

#4 get some heavy duty sticky tape and tape up the backside of the bumper where the crack is.
#5 goto your local autozone or parts store and get yourself a small tube of epoxy resin and epoxy resin hardener. (under ten bucks)
#6 get plastic spreaders from the same store(3$)
#7goto a dollar store or in the same parts store find a plastic or metal flat surface u can put ur epoxy on for mixing(do not use paper or cardboard cause it soaks in)
#8 go home and mix up ur hardener/epoxy resin and ittl be black, smear lots of it into your crack so it gets right in there and sits on the tape, then whats let just smear it nice and tightly smoothed accross the top of the entire repair area.
#9 let it dry for hours then turn it over take ur tape off. mix more put some on the back to just make it smooth and ****, u dont need to sand the back just leave it, no1 sees it.
#10 after everythings fully hard/curred go back to ur electric sander and use fine grit sand paper maybe 180 grit and sand it flush/smooth.

then get ur sanding block with 220 and then do it by the block to keep it flush and smooth.

then u paint the bumper.

dont just paint the repair area then ittl look like patch job and dont use any tape on the outside, u dont want tape lines
