HID QUESTION??
I purchased a 8000k HID kit, and was told by one of my buddies that if I put it in a reflector housing, I'm gonna get pulled over the second I leave the driveway. Now common sense would say that I got the 8000k so that it wouldn't be blinding white. RIGHT? So here are the two options I see best.....
1) Tint the relector part one super light shade with the pactra 294 (for those who know what that is)
2) See if I get pulled over
Can't think of any other options. I'm from TN so cops around here are super bored most of the time. What should I do?

HID kit is always bad for reflector headlight housing as they scatter light much more than using projector housing or normal housing with standard bulb. Where I live, 8000K is not blinding white but dangerously blue so it's highly illegal and unsafe in driving during bad weather.
If cops are super bored, just give it a try but make sure you reset the headlight's alignment for other ppls safety.

go to ebay there are several inexpensive... just make sure to get a warranty. if you want the place i got them from let me know. Off of ebay there are some other great places that won't kill the budget. The next major vendor being ddmtuning.com. their kits are around 75 shipped.

You can get HID on this site too. Just go to the marketing forum. Should be the bottom of the page. I don't have HID but it look cool for some peoples. I did like to get those for fog because it just low to the ground not blinding incoming peoples....

www.ddmtuning.com has an excellent product (the DDM slimline kit for about $65 including lifetime warranty) I own 2 of their kits with no issues...
I went with a 5000k HID kit for the low beam on my 97 Accord, I have the JDM reflectors which admittedly have MUCH better optics than the one the car came with or the US reflectors...
that said, use a 35w kit (not 55w) on your low beams with a reasonable colour and you shouldnt get any real issues with the law.. now., for high beams that is just asking to blind other drivers... very few cars have HID high beams bcause it would require the use of a second projector.. off the top of my head, the bmw x5 has it, but few jap cars..
but if you want a nice pure white + good light output, go with 5000k.. if you just want brighter lights and no risk of your light colour changing much, go with the 4500k kit..

This is true.
any cop that knows what HID lighting looks like will if they want pull you over as it's not legal. There are NO LEGAL RETRO HID kits out there. All of them will say Off Road Use Only dispite what the website claims.
if you are lucky you will get a fix it ticket, if not you get your car towed as it has non functional or improperly functioning or modified safety equipment (lights)
