Instructions on setting timing, 90 civic EX
Alright, I need some help, the jackass that owned the car before me, okie rigged the sensor inside the distributor with wood screws, they finally fell out on me, and I got a new distributor, need to figure out how to set it, I know you loosen the head cover and remove it to take off the belt sleeve. Then remove the I have to run a wire from a port to another port, under the dash on the passenger side.which ports I am not sure. then loosen the distributor and tilt where I want it... If someone can fill me on the ports, I would appreciate it, thanks!!!
it sounds like you only need to place the new distributor in place... you don't have to remove the valve cover to do it. there are three bolts that hold it in place.
But damn Hondat computers, I have to wire the computer up to not take over and read the new reading and in order to see my marks on the belt, in order to set my timing correctly... So I Need to remove the cover to remove the belt sleeve which is grooved into the cover, Damn D16A engine lol.. But I just need to know which ports I need to wire up
yeah like the pic above says you don't have to loosen any covers or any thing. what you are talking about is setting the mechanical timing. unless you mess w your timing belt or your car runs like poop you don't have to take that apart.
Yea, it's running like ****, Bogging out at stop signs. Kicks late when I hit the gas, get a popping when it attempts to take off... lol. Just completed a tune-up new wires, plugs and all.
