im building a d series that i pieced together. so i need to know if any1 knows if all the cam gears are different? if so how and how do i know which cam gear to use...

 

what parts are you using. block head ect

 

well im using the z6 block and i believe its a y8 head. but i really dont know how to tell the difference between a z6 and a y8 head.

 

Ok there is stamps on the head above the exhaust ports. Look at those and tell us the numbers. as for the cam gear use a y8 or z6 or jdm d15b gear. And a y8 or z6 timing belt

 

well i know its a vtec head. bcuz b4 i built the head i took off the vtec solenoid from it, however it was missing the cam. now i have a fully built head and i dont even know if the head is a z6 or a y8. LOL...

what should be the numbers for the z6 and the y8 thats stamped on the head?

 

There should be circles with numbers in them saying the year of the head
