Default transmission question

will a auto (d16y8)vtec tranny work fine on a non vtec motor? the car is a 97 civic. the reason why i ask is cause someone is looking for a transmission and he said he read up on it and it wont work cause of something to do with the ecu.

i dont see why it wouldnt it will definatly bolt up but then again the only honda auto i delt with was thrown away. but ya youll need the auto ecu.

ya, a d tranny will fit any d engine, but just make sure u get the right one (cable or hydralic) and the right auto ecu

92-00 tranny's are interchangeable since there hydro, auto to auto, manual to manual they'll bolt right on
