Default Auto / Hybrid Question

So for the 98-2000 models, was there any difference between the DX auto tranny and the EX auto tranny. I ask because I've considered a Y8 Head, but I dont know if the DX auto tranny will allow it to really be effective, but then again, Honda made an EX automatic... Is it perhaps just a matter of the shift points programmed in the EX ECU?

Any helpful info is greatly appreciated, and no, I'm not considering a auto-manual swap right now.

Better gear ratio. If you going to do a mini me then get the EX tranny. There will be a bigger difference.
