94 ls/vtec high idle
Ok i know judging from the title im going to get a bunch of "search" responses but screw that this problem is different.
to sum it up, i've had to put on a new b18c1 head due to the old one blowing, during that process, some orange/brown fitting snapped off and i've had a high idle. as of right now the car idles at 2000rpm, then when it warms up it fluctuates from 1000-2000rpm.
here are some pix to go by, basically im asking what the hell is this piece? it is located on the top of the block directly UNDER the intake manifold.

Did u trying adjusting the idle screw? Is there any vacuum leak anywhere?check if your hoses are clamp and install tightly.Just in case, check your throttle cable,it might just be a little too tight.
the idle adjustment is fine, its turned as LOW as it can go. i have a blox TB on there maybe thinking of just getting a stock TB, replacing IAVC and that PCV line.

not saying that it's your throttle body but there is always a chance it is.A lot of people on this forum get high idling problem when switching out the the TB to an aftermarket. Some of them tend to have leaks due to poor gasket.
i havent messed with any sensors....this problem started once i put on a new b18c1 head. everything else is exactly the same and i had NO problem before i swapped heads.
and i dont have a vacuum leak

same blox TB that has been on the car ever since i've had it, no prior problems with it.
then maybe its the orange/brown fitting that snapped off.if you are fluctuating between 1000-2000 constantly then there's a good chance there is some type of leak and could the fitting that had snapped off.trying fixing that and update me with the result when u have.
yea unfortunately i have to replace the damn fitting. i've tried to "fix" it by using some JB weld but it aint happening. im sure that plastic fitting cant be that expensive since it just snaps onto the block. ill check it out.
this is your problem. my last lsvtec had the saame issue and sure enough i wasnt even running the pcv valve the right way. get what you need and route it right. i too had the same idle issue. hope this helps.
I have the same identical issue, would bounce after it warmed up, replaced IACV and FITV, didn't do anything, no vac leaks..... I had a 5 page thread and nothing came of it.
Hope you find the answer
i'd like to hear it.

i really dont see how this can be related to the evap canister since that is for emissions...
like i said this problem WAS NOT happening when i had the other head, and i still DID have that open nipple on the rear of the IM.
only thing that has changed since swapping heads is the PCV piece breaking off.

ok as you guys can see i do not have number 8, the purge solenoid...also if you look at vacuum line number 3, you see that i have just bypassed the purge solenoid all together by plugging it into the back nipple.
the number 3 vacuum line is the line that i have and like i said just bypassed the solenoid. i really dont think this is my problem.

something else for you guys, i've noticed this plug just dangling but never found out where it goes. the dealer refuses to believe me when i say i have two plugs coming off of the IACV haha.
ok good...i probably should have taken the box off in the first place but oh well lesson learned. the stupid grommet fell down the hole of the box, i was having a hard time trying to shove the piece in the hole haha.
