rough idle turns into stalling issue
heres the vehicle:
1989 honda civic
d15b2(dpi)
5-speed trans
new parts:
headgasket, timing belt, clutch, water pump, ALL gaskets.
The problem:
went out to my car the other day and it started right up, but when i pressed the gas it died. i didnt think much o it and started the car back up and it died again. i got out and looked under the to make sure nothing was out of place. everything looked fine. i tried to start the car again and this time it wouldnt start. i left the car for work and continued to work on it when i got home. i thought the fuel filter might have been clogged so i replaced that; still no start(crank but wont fire). next i put a lil gas in it just to make sure i wasnt a total idiot; still no start issue persists. the next thing i did was replace the cap and rotor; fires right up and idles great. i drive the car all night with no problems. next morning i wake up and start the car, but now the car surges at idle(IACV, i assume). i do have an extra IACV but i dont have to get it, so i drive the car all day with no issues other than the surging at idle. later i make a stop at advanced to get some fuel system cleaner, but when i come out the car will not start. after cranking it and cranking it, it does fire, but now has the same problem as the day before. it idles, but once given any throttle, it dies. could the IACV be the whole problem? or do i have multiple problems? any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks
