Short Shifter inquiry?
i am curious for all of you who have short shifters, do you regret the decision? or are you completly happy with changing?
Ive heard some people say it makes it harder to shift, or dosent feel right.. so im curious. I would greatly love shifting to be a more tolerable process and if changing my stock one will do this I am game for it. But i would like to hear from people who have short shifters and have been using one for a good ammount of time now, for daily driving..
Thnaks to all who comment!

currently i have what builthatch has and i love the comptech ss. definitely no complaints. i hate driving other peoples civics who dont have ss LOL

y0, i want to add something about TWM stuff. i love TWM, their customer service is probably amongst the best in the entire industry, the quality of materials in their products is DOPE, and their people are just flat out nice.
the problem i have with some of their "stick" shifters, such as that on my ms3, is they make them too short of a stick height for the console.
on an s2k, or miata, fine, because the driver is low compared to the console, but on cars based on econoboxes, that isn't practical. i am a big dude, with long arms and everything and i still hate that.
IMO, if anything, make the stick height TALLER and reduce the throw as much as practical.

Yeah I was looking at that, once I saw the post for it in a different forum, looks like its going to be gud. just didnt know if there was already another brand that had a shortshifter out already or not and if so how it performed, but aight for now lets wait and see that for info all.

+1 for TWM.
i put in their short throw adapter, with all the bushings and at first it seemed too hard to put into gear.. but it was solid at the same time.
i've been DD'ing it for about a month now, and i don't know if i'm just used to it, or if it got "broken in" but it feels fine now and i really don't remember what shifting was like before i put these pieces in.
i'd imagine that it would be like hell if i took them out and had the shifter back at stock though
when is this stage 2 short throw shifter supposed to be coming out? prices?

I ordered a Mugen from kingmotorsports.com. I have driven a Si with the Mugen, Comptech and TWM, so unless you just really want the name, I suggest you hold out for the new TWM coming out.
I will admit I'm a Mugen *****.

What is the point of a shorter shifter? I understand that there is a shorter throw, and therefore a quicker shift, but at some point it does not really matter.
All that are out now have a claimed 33% reduction. Seems to be the magic number for the Si. If you drag race then it's all useless because you will probably have to worry about torque lock out anyhow.
I use a comptech SS with the corsport shifter bushings. it was nice at first, but for some reason 2,4,6 feel weird when I shift into them, but 1, 3, 5 are fine.
