Ok, so ive been doing a lot of research on this. When i got my civic it had never had the timing belt changed so i had it changed. Then the belt slips and fuked my Y8 up. Now the dealer i got it from had a Y7 laying around so gave me a deal on it. I kept getting the CEL code for vtec malfunction. I changed the ECU to a P2E and now it gives me a code for IACV failure. I already knew i was goin to get that cel becuase of the whole 3 wire and 2 wire deal. I have the Y8 manifold on there and its a manual so it a 2 wire iacv and my ecu is looking for 3 wire so is there anyway i can somehow find a 3 wire iacv and run the needed wires for the 2nd wire from the ecu to the iacv? on the auto Y8 manifold is the iacv also integrated with the TB or is a seperate unit like the 2 wire iacv? any info will be greatly appreciated because im tired of paying 14 bucks for everytime i take it to emissions...and fail...
auto y8 has the iacv on the throttle body just like the y7. you could actually get a y7 throttle body and block of the manual iacv on the mani, then run the third wire to the ecu. sort of like a reverse iacv three to two wire fix.
