Accord sounds like a motorcycle--Normal?
I bought a Honda Accord DX 2000 recently, 70k kms. However I found it sounds a bit like a motorcycle or manual car when it accelerates. The Honda dealer (Missisauga Honda) is very tough to deal with. The warranty is also virtually bullshit. Actually I noticed that when I push the accelerator, even gentle, the rpm quickly goes up to ~3000, then drop to 2200 and then up again, and that is why my Accord sounds like a motorcycle or a manual car. I have never have a car sounds like this. Any idea if this is normal or not?
is it the torque converter? Your car, is it an AT? it is normal if your car is an auto...i think.

most 4 cyl. cars sound like 4 cyl bikes when they go to 6k rpm's...hehe...but it sounds ****** crazy after a bike goes past 6k....
i think it's just the way the 4cylinders are on the 6th gen accord. I drive an EX version of it and I too thought my car was very loud. I suspected my car had engine problems too but i guess that's just the way the engines were designed to be. However, pushing the pedal gently and revving to 3000rpm sounds kind of fishy...i guess your car has a problem.
on my 4th gen, it does the exact same thing
im gonna do a search, but since im here im just gonna ask anways
what does a torque converter do?
