well recently my speedometer just quit working on me. i have swap out the vss and bought a new gauge cluster and it still didn't work. now i'm lost as to what else can cause the speedometer to stop working. i have a ls/v in the car if that helps.

 

easy my friend. Fuse #15 is out.. check that fuse under your steering wheel. I believe its a 10

 

thanks for the input but i just checked the fuse and replaced it and still no go..

 

hmm i had a problem like that and it ended up being my alternator i would make sure that is working correctly otherwise your spedo plug may have become damaged

 

so your positive you replaced fuse #15??? hrmmm.. then like 97ej6dx stated.. your speedo plug or vss plug may be malfunctioning.. try cleaning it or checking the wires

 

yep im possitive i replaced the fuse..yea well i'm going to have to check out the vss wiring and speedo cable when the engine is cool.

 

My ecu fuse under the hood was blown and caused this too in my prelude. Just a thought

 

mine started doing that.. but me its the cluster, i hit the cluster and it comes back on lol i have a new cluster though.. did you replace the vss sensor with a new or a used one? chances can be that its also bad if thats your problem, unlikely but feasible...

 

well i swapped the vss from my brother's b20 and it didn't work and when i threw his back into his car it works so i'm assuming it's not the vss unless it's the harness.

 

check the vss plug. mine was all chewed out n thats y it wasnt workin. cut one off a friends harness n everythings good

 

check inside the plug if water got in there. This happened to me 2 times last week with all the damn rain. Water got in the plug and just grounded all the terminals together reading 0 all the time.
