my civic wont start
i got this 93 honda civic hatch the guy i bought it from said it only needed a distributer but i wanted to test this.. i put the old one in and went to turn the motor over to see if there was spark at the plugs at all. i turn the switch and from the fuse box area there is a clicking noise and when i turned the key to start it acted as if the batt was dead, but its a new batt. my friend said the starter or ignition could possibly be grounding out but one, dont know how to fix that and im worried it might be a bigger problem... any ideas???
so its clicking but no start? could be starter. First check all grounds. Tranny to chasis, head to chasis, and thermostat ground. If all is there, try and push start the car. If that doesnt work look into replacing the your starter. Also check all your connections of the spark plug wires. make sure they are in the correct position and pushed in
thanks but the clicking noise is coming from my fuse box my friend said it could be the grounds or something as simple as a relay?? ill try everything you said and maybe replace that relay if those dont work hopefully i can fix this before i have my knee surgery.. thanks
