vtec controller causes cel. normal???
hi all, i have a field sfc vtec controller, if i set the vtec to kick in lower than stock 5500rpm sooner or later i will get a cel code 22 (vtec pressure switch) its all wired up correctly to the ecu via harness. i got stock cams etc.. so i do leave it at stock 5500
but i just want to know is it normal to trigger a cel by lowering vtec point?

I had a vafc2 in my si when I got it and I tried to mess with it but didn't see it improving anything. It threw a CEL once and soon after I just scrapped it. I sold it for more then enough money to just order a basemapped ecu. Now I am tuned properly. I realize this doesn't answer your question but something to think about. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but alot of people steer clear of those vafc's because as you change your fuel curve the ecu automatically adjusts your timing. This may not be ideal for your setup. And as far as vtec goes, unless you have a crazy built car, vtec is going to already be set at it's most ideal point.
