Default need help after distributor installation

Hey guys,

I need help. I purchased a brand new distributor and installed it into my car. I made sure the shaft went into the cam. i left the bolts slightly loose so that I could adjust the timing. The car started and ran descent for a good minute but after adjusting the distributor, the car died. Now the car doesn't want to turn over. It makes a whaling sound when cranking. I distributor sort of shakes a bit when i try to crank the car also. any suggestions or help would be appreciated. thanks in advance guys.

So the starter still cranks the engine fine, right? What precisely is making the noise? Have you removed the distributor and inspected it?

"the rotor could be 180 degree the wrong way." but it was cranking okay just a lil sluggish. Will turning the rotor the other 180 degrees help. The starter and everything is fine it just i dont think it has enough spark to get the distributor going. i guess when i tried starting it turns slowly like its going to start but it doesn't. I distributor shakes a lil bit as well, idk whats going on with that. Thanks for the reply so far guys, any help appreciated. i hope i can get it fix before the weekend.

Pull the distributor out and inspect it. Then reinstall as shown in the diagram and check for spark at the plugs. If you lack spark, verify that the distributor gets battery voltage on the BLK/YEL wire and then have the coil and ICM tested.
