Help - DC2 Suspension Aftermarket items
Hi,
I've got a DC2 R and looking to maximise its adjustability / performance through LCA/UCA toe kits etc etc .. I am a little lost however, what would be the beez neez of upgrades through the handling side? I alread have Toda DA Coilovers, so looking to get the car setup correctly for next track excursion.
Thanks for help -- appreciated!

what are you really looking to maximize?? you are asking a vague question with a vague description.
if you want to know what will get your car to handle better...start with an alignment. tires. arbs. etc.

Honestly, it sounds like you're lost because you just didn't know where you were headed in the first place. Do you have specific goals for the car? Not canyon carving, back roads driving, mountain running, etc.

Apologies - reread the post and it was vague. After parts I guess that will increase adjustability of alignment settings / correct geometry etc etc ..
The car is for daily driving (limited) and weekend circuit work (not drag racing or autocross). I am looking to push this car in the direction of a street registered speed attack with eventual retirement to track only.. I don't like buying things twice, so I may as well buy parts that I will be happy with at the end (to a certain common sense cost point anyway).
I am aware of the Camber Kits for DC2 from Skunk2 etc but was wondering, is Skunk2 the best / adequate and moreso, what else is out there that I can swap in to enhance the handling of the car from a suspension setup perspective with regards to adjustability?
I guess I don't know what is adjustable and what isn't and within what ranges for stock parts on the car -- As above, I have only just bought some Toda DA coilovers and want to make it so I can take every advantage of them in terms of maximising contact patches, weight transfer etc etc ..
Also are Roll Centre Adjusters really necessary -- I don't quite understand the need for them? Do they effectively bring the angle of the control arms back to around the geometry when it was stock due to lowering?

If you don't want to buy things twice, you'll need to have a very good idea of where the car will eventually end up. Different racing series have different rules and regulations for classing, so if you're thinking beyond the typical fun-run lapping day then you have some homework to do.
Little on a stock Type-R is adjustable in terms of suspension - you can adjust toe in the front and the rear, and that is about it as far as I know. To adjust any suspension geometry beyond that requires modifications to the chassis and/or buying aftermarket parts, neither of which should be done without a good idea of why you are doing it. Camber kits are a great example.
You can begin worrying about adjusting things like roll centers, contact patches, and weight transfer after you've spent some time behind the wheel at some performance driving events - how do you "fix" a problem that you don't know you have? By the same token, how do you know what you are experiencing are problems with the car and not with your driving? At the end of the day, results at the track are a combination of the car AND the driver, and there is no replacement for a good driver. There are plenty of reasons to support growing the driver before the car.
