$400 for a 90 Civic Si Tranny Good or Bad
Is that the going rate for PL3-3000 Tranny? I an getting one from a junkyard to go with my ZC, while I send my factory Si tranny out to get built and get better gear ratios.
Does $400 sound close to correct? I am used to buying Chevy trannies for $250.
So i dont know if this is a deal or not. Thanx.

That's way too much. B-series trannies go for about that much. Look for something in the $100-$150 range, or less would be better.
well, from any salvage yard in the NYC area, they'll all be in the 300-400 dollar area, you could get it cheaper from a private party but good luck(and probably goodbye to your cash) if something goes wrong with it or its bad from the start,at least with salvage yards, most give you some kind of warranty,at least 30 days, even some like hunts point auto wreckers, you could actually buy warranties for like an extra $50-75 for 36month/36000 miles on the stuff they sell.

Your S1 is a B series trans. $250 is actually a pretty good price for that. He's looking for a 88-91 Si trans (not sure on code cuz i only pull em out, never put them back in). That trans is worth $75-150 max. Hell i could get the whole changeover for less than $400.
I have a L3 sitting in my garage, you can have it for $50 but you have to come pick it up cause I am in Toronto.

Cause it doesn't seem as if he wants to. It really isn't too difficult to change the syncros, just takes time. And time is what most people don't like to spare.
Thanx for the response guys.... I was actually lookin for somethin local cause I know people have gotten burnt buying stuff and when it arrives it nothing like what you expect
IF worse comes to worse and I cant find a NY/NJ/CT tranny I will simply put my existing one on the ZC and when it blows up... I'll change it. It's always a crap shoot with used parts.. whose to say the tranny i get wont grind just like my existing one.
But hey.... you live and learn.
Anyone local??
