Impossible idle problem

Icon2 Impossible idle problem

Ok ive checked everything related to my erratic idle it goes up and down nonstop. The iacv is good, the map sensor is good,no vaccum leaks, tps is good, i totally cleaned my throttle body. No cel, im out of ideas. Its a 92 4door civic auto trans d15b non vtec, any one have any ideas? Please help! Thanks

Does the hunting idle stop if you cover the port leading to either the IACV or FITV with your finger? Have you tried bleeding the cooling system? Can you kill the idling engine by covering the top of the throttle body with your hand?

is it too low of an idle or too high of an idle?
if its too low of an idle being that you have an auto trans it can be that your trans is going out.

-- Also, if you've recently done work involving draining the coolant system, you likely have bubbles in the FITV/IACV coolant lines. Refer to your manual for bleeding instructions.

remove fitv, take the cap off, and screw the white plastic peice all the way down.


^^ do that then let us know how it worked

the white thing in the fast idle valve under the throttle body was loose. i screwed it in and it runs fine now thanks guys

haha good guess on my part... everyone seems to skip that step in the "guessing game" of fixing idle issues lol
