••••>best way to gain 30-40whp from my supercharged setup - COME SUPERCHARGER PEOPLE
as many know i have jackson racing supercharged gsr swapped eg... i currently make around 240whp at optimal temps... the charger is set to 11 psi and it make way to much heat at higher rpms that i think i could make the same power with 8psi because they had to pull so much timing to stop it from detonating.
so i want o avoid buy the LHT intercooler/aftercooler thing... last time i called they wanted 1500 and 3-4 days to put it on my car...
1. i have 3 idea's the 1st one would be the snow meth kit and i have talk to some one who uses it and loves it but they used it on a vortec not a JRSC. so where to hook up the meth to is a queston i don't know the answer to. do i throw into the intake pipe or like direct port it into all 4 runners. i don't know. most of i want to know will i gain power from cooling the air and also using meth.. how much could i gain. i want to be 275 -290... i will be getting a tune as soon as i install any of these ideas. this should cost 4-500
2. this one i think would be really fun, i was told by adding a small shot (25 -35 shot, thats it no higher then that) of NOS i would cool the air at higher temps like the meth and i would gain more power and some say it can be safer then the meth injection. i would like to have the progressive nos setup so it would be a quick shot type thing and i would have it running off a wot switch. also with this i would have it tuned as soon as i installed.
i can get this for as much as the meth kit 4-500
3. and this one i like but i just don't know much about these setups. ok so i was thinking people make close to 200whp on b20vtec setups so what if i swapped out my bottom end for a b20 bottom end i would sleeve it and do what i could to get it to rev to 7-8k and i think with the charger set at 8 or 9lb i can make 275whp all day. the queston is can i make this reliable and for no that much cash. again i would have it tuned asap
more about my set up. my gsr swap was rebuilt not to long go (about 4k miles ago) and has been running like atop since, it has a comedic head gasket apr studs type r oil pump, and i was told it had really strong rings made for boost but i can't tell i have to take the guy who built it word for it and he lied about alot... so i have seen many gsr set ups make over 300whp on stock piston and rods. i just want 275-290whp and i plan on getting the best dyno tune i can (jap dan tuning FTW)
please tell me if you have any other ideas or which one of mine you think would work the best thanks to all would help i will REP everyone
p.s. i have a b16 tranny on my setup does anyone know the what the top speed on those trannys are i was told they can only go up to 117mph
also i want to keep my charger no turbos for me please and if you want to start **** with me send me a pm (you know who you are)

Easiest method for now is to add water/meth injection and have it spray before the supercharger. It cools the blades, offers way better atomization and distribution among the cylinders, and you don't need to run high water/meth pressures either (so a basic meth kit is what you'll need). The mild temperature change and 50/50 water/meth content caus no harm on the supercharger itself. The SVT Cobra guys have been doing it the same fashion for years with no problems, as well as my own personal JRSC D16Y8 with over 130k miles on the clock.
On the other hand, spraying nitrous is known for its sudden temperature change on the SC rotors, and it will crack and ruin the blade's coating and thus, ruin the blower in a very short time.
The biggest obstacle for your setup is heat, and if you do go with a B20 VTEC setup, it will essentially pulling more air inside the engine but your supercharger's airflow output still remains unchanged. So if you have a 9 PSI pulley which builds 9 PSI on a basic 1.8L, by swapping to a larger bottom-end will yield the same WHP but at a lower boost (flow vs boost). That's why the same supercharger on bigger engines can effectively make 260+ WHP at 6-7 PSI, and have no heat problems. By improving the flow (2.0L, better cams, etc..) anything that compliments VE of the motor will help lower the pressure between your engine and the SC, thus, dropping IAT's as well.

ok so you have the water meth kit i would love to talk to you about it can you pm your number so i can ask you some questions, i wil call tomorrow mid or when ever.
and i'm thinking your saying i will make more power and cool the charger with the b20 bottom end.
i have a 11lb pulley on my charger now, if i go with a b20vtec motor, i will hope to have more power cause the the b20/v's make around 200whp to start with where as the gsrs only make 150-160whp so all i was thinking is i would lower the boost on the charger to 9lb (and cause 9lb on the b20/vtec should make close to 280whp where is where i want to be) and it should not get as hot but if you think it will be cool at 11lb cause i would have more air flow due to the bigger bottom end that would be cool to... maybe i could expect 300whp from that setup..
but really what can i expect(hp wise) from adding the water/meth, can you send me a link to the set up i need.. can i just add straight windshield washer fluid or can you use straight meth, water just doesn't sound good to use... and does the pump add more or less at different boost levels or rpms how can it tell how much to add. did you gain any hp from it what boost are you running

water and meth will raise the octane level, allowing u to advance timing farther (not to mention cool ur intake temps) which in return will yield more numbers...the key with a supercharger is to keep the intake temps cool..
but around how much power am i looking at gaining 10-15whp or more like 30-40 cause thats what i want... let me kmow you think
The meth/water needs to be retuned. No way to tell how much power EXACTLY will be made. Its not like a nitrous pill set. Your AFRs will go down as well as IATs. Your tuner will then readjust the mapping for you to make more power from these subsequent effects.

^yup yup, i'd lean that bitch out to like a 12:1 afr add some timing and cram that colder air down its throat! 30-40 is possible...never know how the car will react tho

Large displacement and an intercooler are the key to the numbers he wants.
I'd stay way from meth/water as the gains aren't impressive; about half the lht with refill headaches. It is cheaper and very helpful in removing heat soak though.
A small shot of nitrous is also excellent for the race track. A 35-40 shot picked up 8mph for me. Much higher then it should have...
I'm doing a 4-port cooling mist injection set up with my JRSC b18c-R
It's only running the 8lb pulley and making 250whp which is quite high you're probably thinking but it's a JDM 11.3:1 engine to start with.
Its a piston killer though, broke a set of ring lands just this weekend on cylinder 1 so and three more a month previous.
I'm dropping the compression to 9.8:1 with JE's and eagle rods and spraying water meth.
It's just too much heat for the stock pistons to handle otherwise and I want to be able to beat on this thing at high rpm without worry of it breaking again.
I'm spraying into each port from underneath the manifold, there is room there next to the SC unit, the reason I'm going individual port injection is if I am relying on water and meth to keep combustion temps down I want to ensure that it is being evenly distributed.
I don't believe spraying into the plenum or before the charger could guarantee this.

every one i talked to who use this kit say before the charger is better they say it atomizes better and it cools the charger so much you can touch it after runs... and that has to make it boost better.. i plane to run 13-14psi if i can get these temps down.. i think i will make more on 11psi cause they pulled so much timing to safely run 11 with out the meth there is only one way to tell lol...
Except that charger surface temp has very little to do with actual combustion temp.
I don't really care what temp the SC gets i doubt it will get over boiling point.
Maybe the ideal system would be to do both, one jet upstream flowing just water to cool the charger and four port positioned injectors with water/meth to ensure proper delivery to each cylinder.
I've seen pictures of a cylinder head removed after running an up-stream meth injection system and it was evident that only two of the four cylinders were getting a proper dose. Two cylinders showed the dye stains form the meth and they were fine, the two that didn't were pitted from detonation.
When it comes to detonation reduction you want to reduce the combustion temp not so much the air intake temp.
You could have a sub zero intake temp but if it's lean enough with enough advance it will still detonate.
Dont think of the water injection as a power mod like nitros. Think of it as a way to reduce combustion temperatures to allow you to tune the engine to make better use of the air and fuel you are giving it.
I'll only be using 90cc injectors and 50/50 water meth so the actual energy provided by the 45cc of alchohol is minimal, however it's effect on octane and it's ability to absorb heat is valuable because it means for the 10psi of boost pressure I put in I recover more energy.
There's no point stuffing more boost in if you have to run mega amounts of retard to stop it detonating, it just wastes all your energy out the exhaust. You just end up with a very loud petrol burner. :D
**edit And to add to that the coolingmist guy says in his experience the water/meth atomizes best when sprayed into hot air, which makes perfect sense.
Spraying in before the charger is ambient temp so atomization would theoretically be poorer.

Im not sure your reason for not wanting the lht. too much price? Noone would dream run a turbo car on 11psi without an intercooler, yet peeps wanna run a jrsc without one, which heats air even more. If your gonna keep your 1.8l you NEED to have REAL intercooling. Meth can help, but noone has made real power on a honda with it yet. I think our chargers just dont flow enough air, and the loss in volumetric efficiency from liquid turning into gas and displacing air doesnt make up enough for the cooler temps and octane benefit. I think you should be able to find a used LHT for alot less than 1500, and thats really the best way to go for reliablity, drivability, and power production. a 1.8l at 11psi, intercooled, tuned, with a good overall bolton setup, should be able to make 275+whp. thats my .02cents. thats y im having john make me up one for my h22. just cant make real power without one. bottom line.
yea maybe you are right maybe i should get the lht thing, but i wont be able to afford it till oct.(my b day) untill then i will run stock boost and the meth injection, and hope it makes it into all my cylinders, cause i don't want to put holes in to my intake before i get the manifold made...
doootdooot you make sense to me, i agree the meth will only help make power by being able to safely add timing and maybe i will be able to turn up the boost after i run meth cause things will be cooler and the temps of the high boost will be lowered by the mist of meth.. but i 1st want to see what the gains from the meth on 11 are, casue i have heard of people making the power i got from 11psi at 8psi so i should gain a good bit from the meth i think...and if money gets tight and i can't get the lht by my b day i might just turn up the boost while only running the meth
