Does anyone know why would the SRS light stays on after I installed a viper alarm? fcm told me to disconnect the battery(reset) or unplug the alarm brain until battary is reconnected but they they dont seem to work

fyi, car is a 96 Del Sol, alarm:viper 5002 + back up battery+ back up siren.

 

Make sure you have not left an airbag plug unplugged or that the SRS fuse is blown.

Disconnecting the batt. neg.(-) for a few min. should "reset" the ECU/ECM and turn out the light if the SRS system is just latched up. 94

you must of unplugged something. I was going to right it out but here a clear page on how to reset the srs light. If there is a problem the light will come back on. Follow fcm advice then proceded to this.

So if theres a malfunction, the SRS light will come back on rite away, correct?

Yes. Go back and make sure you did not tag ANY WIRES PERIOD INTO THE SRS HARNESS THATS WRAPPED IN YELLOW TAPE.
